Pediatrics:
As a part of University's teaching program, students are trained in common pediatric problems necessary for any fresh medical graduate. Pediatric Course is conducted in 5th academic year and has duration of 12 weeks with 240 Contact Hours and 16 Credit Hours. Class room teaching with interactive lectures, optimal utilization of audio/visual teaching materials and cognitive based teaching by clinical reasoning is coupled with Clinical Training in Hospitals and training in Clinical skill Labs equipped with state of the art simulations. To maximize the exposure, students are rotated in various tertiary care hospitals engaged in child care. Students are trained in wards, neonatal and well-baby units, outpatient and emergency room. Pediatric teaching, training and assessment are aligned with SMLE requirements.

Other Modules and Courses:
Department of Pediatrics is actively involved in successful delivery of Integrated Case Based Curriculum which being spiral runs throughout 2nd to 6th year. Participation of pediatric faculty is there in almost all the modules throughout the academic year in cooperation with other departments and module coordinators.
